What kind of business do you run and how did you decide that this is what you wanted to
do?
A consulting agency. I decided that I wanted to do this because I have always wanted to be an
entrepreneur as well as the job market, I felt, was not paying me worth my time or energy. No
employment ever felt fulfilling. I started my entrepreneurship journey and found there were little
to no offerings for things I needed such as virtual and personal assisting, so I started my
company to provide that to other small businesses.
How long have you been in business?
Going on 3 years
How do you move forward when people tell you that your idea will not work?
Ignore them. They will be praising me for a great idea when it turns out to be great, and it will.
Believing in yourself, though it sounds cliché, is a real mindset you need.
Do you believe that as a woman you need to work harder?
Absolutely. You have to because in the eyes of the World and the famous song: “Anything you
can do, I can do better!”
If a man were running your business what kind of changes do you think he would make?
Women are nurturing by nature. Men are not as nurturing as women are. I think the business
would be less about helping others and more focused on money. Maybe more focused on
production and not the heart of the business which is building relationships for me.
How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors?
Being fully attentive to all my clients, hand by hand, to let them know even though I may not be
their consultant, I still am interested in their success. Providing the best customer service and
being available at a drop of a dime is what makes us different.
What is your motivation?
Knowing that I will be able to give my family and children employment and generational wealth.
What role does social media play in your business?
It’s vital to getting exposure. It’s a tricky slop but it’s vital to marketing and networking.
What advice would you give to younger women just starting as entrepreneurs?
Do what makes you happy and content at the end of the day. Make sure you’re happy with who
you are and what you do. Do it for yourself. Don’t ask for permission!
